About the challenge
If you're a beginner to Google Cloud services or coding in general, you're in luck! This hackathon is your chance to learn about the Google Cloud Platform and build an interesting application using it. The only requirement is that your app uses some Google service, and you don't need a fully functioning app (obviously, it's a hackathon after all).
RSVP for the sessions on our page: https://gdsc.community.dev/events/details/developer-student-clubs-minerva-university-presents-devfest-on-campus-hackathon/
Who is This for?
Open to all Minerva University students with beginner to advanced coding experience.
Strongly encourage beginners and people who want to advance their coding skills to participate.
We will be holding sessions introducing you to some Google Cloud services.
Get started
Register as an individual or team of up to three people. All members of your team must be Minerva University students. Please use a Devpost account with your minerva.edu email.
Requirements
What to Build
An application that solves a problem - any problem you find interesting - using any part of the Google Cloud Platform.
What to Submit
You may submit any one of the following:
- a PDF of a presentation
- a video of at most 3 minutes
- an zip folder containing code you wrote for an application. If you choose this, you must also submit a link to a Github repository containing the code you wrote for the app.
You can also submit multiple resources.
Please note, if you are submitting code, you must include clear instructions on how to run the app. Ideally, your app would be hosted online and we can visit a link to interact with it.
If the app has to be run locally, ensure that all necessary files and data (e.g. environment variables) are included in your zip folder and the app does not have any errors.
Project and Submission Requirements
In your submission, ensure the following are clearly stated:
- The problem you are solving
- The technology used to make the application
- Which tool on the Google Cloud Platform you used to build the application
Your submission must contain only what you worked on during the hackathon week. Submissions that violate this will be disqualified.
Your submission must not have been submitted to another hackathon in the past month. Submissions that violate this will be disqualified.
See instructions above for what to submit.
