Eligibility

You must be a member of GDSC Minerva and a current Minerva University student to participate. Join us on https://gdsc.community.dev/minerva-university. Please register with your minerva.edu email.

Project and Submission Requirements

In your submission, ensure the following are clearly stated:

  • The problem you are solving
  • The technology used to make the application
  • Which tool on the Google Cloud Platform you used to build the application

Your submission must contain only what you worked on during the hackathon week. Submissions that violate this will be disqualified.

Your submission must not have been submitted to another hackathon in the past month. Submissions that violate this will be disqualified.

Prizes

First prize: $200 to the team.

Second prize: $150 to the team.

Third prize: $100 to the team.

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Your submission will be assessed on 4 aspects. You will receive between 0 and 5 points on each aspect. Final winners are selected based on total number of points. Ties will be broken based on submission time (earlier is better).

Your submission's final score is the average over each scored aspect. If you did not submit an app (code), we average over only Presentation, Problem definition and Solution Quality.

Software development

If you submitted a zip folder with an app and a link to a Github repository, we assess the quality of your code (readability and best practices). Your submission will earn between 0 to 5 points on this.

Presentation

The quality of your presentation, video or website design. Your submission will earn between 0 to 5 points on this.

Problem definition

How clearly defined your problem is. Any terms you use should be clear and the scale of the problem should be highlighted Your submission will earn between 0 to 5 points on this.

Solution Quality

Does your application clearly solve the entire problem or only aspects of the problem? How feasible is your solution on a larger scale, if applicable? Your submission will earn between 0 to 5 points on this.
